Here we are hanging out at a rest stop/nursing stop...one of many on our long, long road trip. Somehow our 8 hour first leg turned into 11 hours and our 4 hour leg the second day took 7 hours. Of course there were some circumstances out of our control -- like a terrible wildfire. But by the car trip home, we just stopped counting the miles and hours. All in all the kids did GREAT in the car.
Renae playing in the sand and making sand castles.
Colby playing in the water. He loved to do funny poses for the camera. I guess he was pretending to fall. He really LOVES the water.
Mason and Colby pretending to take the wave runners out for a spin.

To quote one of Eric's favorite movies: "I feel the need for speed."
Can you name that movie? It is Top Gun and it is NOT one of Eric's favorite movies, I just like to tease him about that. He is a not a Tom Cruise fan...well pretty much no one is now, but Eric has never appreciated Tommy's artistic talent :)

Heather and Renae swimming out in the middle of the lake. It is COLD but the water is so clear, deep and blue it is amazing.
On the way home we took a quick detour down to Lee's Ferry at the bottom of the Colorado River gorge near the beginning of the Grand Canyon. Just a quick stop to get out and stretch but it was beautiful and fun to see the mighty Colorado River up close.
