We've got SNOW...yes we do...we've got snow...how 'bout you?

Just wanted to share some images of our front yard that were taken lately. I know they will make you jealous and that you will all want to come and visit me now. But please call ahead first.

My van. After last year's experiences with a rear-wheel drive vehicle in snow --
we decided to just park it for the winter and not use it. Poor baby.
This was taken Jan5. There is about another foot on top now.

I wasn't sure where to put my recycling bins on recycle day.
I guess on top of a snow bank works. It is almost up to the mailbox!
This was also Jan 5.

Here are the pictures from this weekend.
The kids had a 4 day weekend:
Martin Luther King Day + a teacher inservice day.
Don't get me started on how many days off the kids have here!!!
That could be a whole other blog post!

Here is the view from my front door.
My boys (Eric & Mason) work hard to keep this walkway clear.
What's that at the end of the walkway you ask???

Yep, it's a Snow Tunnel!
Our first ever attempt at the art of Snow Cave building.

Here is Mason working on the inside of the tunnel.
We had a small mishap and the tunnel collapsed with Mason inside.
He was scared but we dug him right out in seconds.
Lessons learned:
Never play in snow caves alone and
Do some research on proper snow cave building first
-- it isn't as easy as it may seem!

Sadie enjoying the snow.

We love when the trees are frosted in snow.
It really is beautiful.

Wow, you really DO have snow! It is terrifying and lovely at the same time! My first thoughts are "how dangerous for driving, how freezing, how messy!" Then at second glance, it is really beautiful...pure, serene, a winter wonderland! But glad it's you, and that I can experience it through your awesome pictures!

Holy Molee! That's a lot of snow. Ours all melted with the rain over the weekend and we just have dead looking grass and frigid temps. Get out there and sled.....

Thanks for the pics, I've been wondering about your weather. Our snow is just about gone after temps around 50 Mon & Tues. This morning it rained, but now cold winds are blowing in to get us back into feeling like winter.
