Hike to Aldous Lake

After Eric and I came back from our overnight get away...we were pumped up to do some more hiking...this time a Family Hike. Sadly, we haven't taken our kids out hiking much (or at all, really) so this was new territory. We met with a fair amount of grumbling and complaining as we began, but in the end everyone had a great time! And they were great hikers. This was a 3 mile hike (not too long) but it had lots of ups and downs on the trail. Also, a recent wind storm had blown down dozens of trees across the path so we were often climbing over trees and debris piles to get back to the trail.

A lovely mountain lake was our destination.
We stopped to have a snack and Eric tried some fly fishing and then we headed home.
It was a fun trip and we hope to squeeze in a few more hikes this summer!

We actually recently discovered that hiking really is fun too! It took some convincing with our kids as well!
