We headed over to Grandpa Crandall's house Sunday morning for the traditional Breakfast at Grandpa's. A trip to Arizona can not be complete with Grandpa's famous hotcakes. The kids enjoyed seeing Rusty (Grandpa's dog) and some of the toys they remembered playing with. We hadn't been to Tucson since 2010 so it had been awhile. We also enjoyed Christmas Round 3 as we gave Grandpa and Aunt Donetta their Christmas gifts.
That afternoon we attended church in our old ward in Marana. It was so nice. Countless people came up to chat with us... the speaker in Sacrament Meeting even mentioned us in her talk (that was embarrassing as all eyes were turned on us). I'll admit that we didn't make it to Sunday School because we were in the hall visiting with old friends. It was so nice to see the people that we had spent 10 years serving and worshiping with while we lived in our Continental Ranch home. We miss our old friends, but it was so great to see the changes in their lives and have a chance to catch up with them. Sadie was only 2 when we left and Mason was 9. So much has happened in the 4 1/2 years since we moved away.

Monday, Dec. 30Eric started out the day by taking his Grandpa out to breakfast...another tradition from long ago. They took Mason with them too, this time.
Then we headed out to visit Eric's dad on the other side of Tucson. We had a nice visit and had lunch there as well. Bruce has an amazing set up of trains in his back yard that kept the kids enthralled.

Colby and Renae especially loved the Harry Potter Lego sets that he had set up inside the train course. I had never seen the Hogwarts sets. They were amazing.
We spent a pleasant afternoon together catching up and reconnecting.
Bruce even sent us home with one of his Polar Express train sets for the kids. Thanks!
That evening I had my Girls' Night Out with two of my best friends in the world Naomi and Mandy. We started the evening going shopping at consignment stores. That may not sound like that much fun, but believe me, with these girls it is a blast. I even found a few cute shirts to take back to Idaho. Then we went out for Mexican food. REAL Mexican food. It was fabulous. We ended the night by getting ice cream at Cold Stone. Although that wasn't really the end....Naomi came and chatted at my house until after midnight....just like old times. I love those girls SO much. We've been BFF's since 6th grade and they've been with me through every phase of my life. I simply can't imagine what my life would have been like without them. Thanks for the great evening!!!!
Sadly....no one thought of pulling out a camera all night. Can you believe it????
