Mason - My First Born

I rarely do highlights on an individual child -- a.k.a. braggy posts -- but I'm going to do it now (actually I'm going to do one on each kid in the next few days, the horror!). So just turn (or click) away if you hate that kind of stuff. But a mom's gotta do what a moms gotta do.

Mason just turned 11 last week. Can you believe that? ELEVEN! He is an excellent student at school, a great helper around the house and is our main babysitter. He is very responsible, honest and respectful. An all around great kid and we are lucky to have him. Here are a few things that Mason has been up to lately.

He just opened a hiking backpack that holds water.

He can't wait to start camping and hiking with his Boy Scout troop.

Mason at our Family Bowling Night. He got a better score than I did.

Mason at our Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. The car was not a fast one.

But speed isn't everything, right???

At least it looked really cool. He called it Shark Attack.

Mason had his final Pack Meeting last week.

He was awarded his Webelos (even though he had earned it in December),

his Religious Knot and the Arrow of Light.

They did the bridging ceremony from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts...

and I'll admit I got a little teary-eyed.

My baby is growing up!!
